History - The Vision

Thursday, 22 September 2011 07:35

landroverA clear word and vision from the Lord, brought Chadd back to South Africa in the year 2000, after 2 years in the UK. God called him to come and work amongst the people where he had grown up the Mevamhlope and surrounding areas of Kwa Zulu Natal.

With 2  local zulu friends, he began purchasing, sieving and bagging cow manure. The product he called 'Moopoo"! With the little profit he made he began to educate and feed some of the poorer folk  that he had met on his journeys over and through the undulating hills of the rural area. The people called him  'Mfana ka Mjibha' - Son of iJeep - his dad, Peter was given the name Mjibha (m-jeep-a), as he has always owned and driven a Jeep! Chadd befriended everyone and so his vision became clearer...

prop_10In late 2001, Chadd became involved with an orphanage called 'Nkosinathi'. He helped clean it up and with skilled friends they repaired the building, provided mattresses, blankets, curtains and organised food donations on a regular basis. He also taught them to grow vegetables so they would, hopefully, become self-sustaining. And so began this amazing work of love.

In late 2002 Chadd met Kate who also has a heart for the less privileged. They married in September 2004. Tragically Chadd met with a fatal accident in December 2009, but this annointed work of God continues through Kate and the team that He has called to "help widows and orphans in their distress" James 1:27.

Daunting Numbers

Our first Orphan Christmas party was held in 2002 with 80 orphans attending. In 2003, we had 150 kids and we schooled 17 in 2004 with the left over funds. That increased steadily over the years. From the beginning of 2012 we have been supporting the 1464 orphan children we have on file, making up 621 families.
